【RECIPES】HONEY BBQ WINGS

Release Time:2021-07-21    Source:Huige news

Why go out for wings when you can make them better at home? These Honey BBQ Wings are juicy, tender and flavorful. They’re grilled in a blend of spices; then they’re basted with homemade Honey BBQ Sauce. Tangy, with just the right amount of heat and a sweet twist from locally sourced honey, these wings are always a favorite.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CHICKEN WINGS

10 whole chicken wings

1/4 cup dry BBQ rub

FOR THE DRY BBQ RUB

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup smoked sweet paprika

3 tablespoons kosher salt

2 tablespoons coarse ground black pepper

2 tablespoons mild chili powder

2 tablespoons granulated garlic

2 tablespoons granulated onion

2 teaspoons chipotle powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon rubbed thyme

FOR THE HONEY BBQ SAUCE

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup local honey

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

3/4 kosher salt

3/4 teaspoon black pepper

3/4 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon dried onion flake

DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat the grill to 375-400°F.

2.In a medium-size pot, combine ketchup, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, chili powder and onion flakes. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes to blend the flavors. Set aside.

3.In a medium-size bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic, onion, chipotle powder, cumin, coriander and thyme.

4.Season wings on all sides with the dry rub.

5.Place the wings, top side down, on hot grill grates. Flipping every 5 minutes, cook until the internal temperature reaches 180°F on an insstant-read thermometer , about 20 to 25 minutes.

6.Using a basting brush , brush all sides of the wings with honey BBQ sauce. Cook for about 1 minute per side until the sauce is set on the wings.
